Why Nicole Returned to Korea for Veneers
Why Nicole returned to Korea for veneers, from her first dental visit to the interpreting, accommodation and airport transportation support she received.
One patient's experience. Your care and results may differ; the clinic decides what suits you.
About a month after having her teeth cleaned and whitened at a dental clinic in Korea, Nicole returned. This time, she had come for veneers. The dentist’s attentive care during her first visit had given her a reason to come back.
We helped Nicole, who came from Taiwan, choose a clinic and accompanied her to her appointments. Because she did not speak Korean, we provided interpreting support. We also helped her prepare for her stay by recommending accommodation and arranging airport transportation.
Her Dental Concerns and Her First Visit
Nicole felt that her teeth were not evenly aligned. She was also concerned about her front teeth protruding slightly when she smiled and the uneven color of her teeth. A friend’s recommendation prompted her to look into dental care in Korea.
At her first visit, she had her teeth cleaned and whitened. She found the dentist attentive and patient. Having experienced his care, she began to feel that she wanted to return for veneers. Her next visit would be with a dentist who had already treated her.

Before deciding, there was something she wanted to ask.
“Will my teeth need to be filed down a lot?”
Nicole asked the dentist. She wanted to understand what would need to be done to her teeth to achieve the appearance she had in mind. After hearing his answer, she decided to go ahead and returned to Korea.
Information Before the Trip, Communication at the Clinic
Before coming to Korea, Nicole received a detailed quote and information about the planned treatment. She said that having this information in advance meant she was not too worried about the visit. Alongside the trust she had gained from her earlier appointment, she now had information about the treatment she would receive.
Once she arrived, she needed to be able to communicate with the dental team. Without speaking Korean, talking with the dentist was something she could not easily manage on her own. We accompanied her to appointments and interpreted, helping her understand the team’s explanations and making sure her words could reach them, too.

Nicole singled out having someone interpret when she spoke with the dentist as especially important. After receiving help choosing a clinic, she also had support with communication during her care. She said that this helped her feel at ease.
Nicole’s Dental Treatment in Korea
Nicole visited the clinic three times for her veneer treatment. There were two main treatment sessions, with an additional visit for disinfection in between.

At the first visit, the dentist took impressions, prepared her teeth where needed and treated areas with cavities. She then returned for disinfection, and her veneers were fitted at the third visit. Several adjustments were made on that final day.
Nicole said that both the dentist and the nurses took good care of her during the treatment. The dental team provided her care, while we accompanied her and helped with communication through interpreting.

Staying Across from the Clinic
When a trip involves several clinic visits, the location of the accommodation becomes part of everyday life. After receiving our accommodation recommendations and guidance, Nicole stayed at a hotel right across from the clinic. She said that the location was convenient and that the help spared her from having to search through so much information herself.
Nicole also arranged airport transportation through us as an additional service. With interpreting support at the clinic, accommodation and airport transportation in place, she felt that things had gone smoothly from the time she arrived in Korea.
On the day of her final clinic visit, Nicole told us that the result was better than she had expected. She recalled that the appearance of her front teeth when she smiled, along with the uneven color of her teeth, had first prompted her to consider treatment. She was pleased with what she saw that day.
The interview took place just after treatment, while the anesthetic had not yet fully worn off. Nicole made that point as she described the discomfort as manageable for her. Although the process had taken some time, she told us she was happy to have completed the treatment.

This account of Nicole’s personal experience is based on her interview in Chinese. Her comments about satisfaction and discomfort were made immediately after treatment. Treatment methods, the number of visits, outcomes and the scope of support may vary from person to person.
