Aaron Researched Around 17 Clinics for Under-Eye Fat Repositioning
Aaron researched around 17 clinics before visiting four plastic surgery clinics in Korea for under-eye fat repositioning, with support from MyClinic.
One patient's experience. Your care and results may differ; the clinic decides what suits you.
Originally from the UK and living in Brisbane, Australia, Aaron wanted to have under-eye fat repositioning. He also wanted to keep looking like himself. He did not want to change other features or dramatically alter his appearance. As he prepared for his first cosmetic surgery, that mattered to him. By the time he contacted us at MyClinic, he had already researched around 17 clinics.
Trust Built Through Communication
Aaron had travelled to several countries, but he had never had surgery abroad. He needed to get from the airport into central Seoul, find the clinics, attend consultations and arrive at each appointment on time. Looking back, he said he would have felt lost trying to arrange all of that on his own.
Aaron said he came to trust us during this process. He received a call within 10 minutes of his first enquiry, and we continued to communicate promptly by email. For him, trust was important when having surgery in a country he had never visited, but it was not something he could establish immediately. Our communication before his trip helped build that trust.
We stayed in touch with Aaron to coordinate clinic visits and appointments, rescheduling some of them along the way. He said that without those changes, he might have arrived much later than scheduled. We arranged a schedule so he could visit the clinics he had researched.
Deciding After Consultations at Four Plastic Surgery Clinics in Korea
Once Aaron arrived in Korea, our coordinator guided him from the airport and accompanied him to his clinic visits. He visited four plastic surgery clinics in Korea. We interpreted the explanations and questions during each consultation so that he could communicate with the medical staff.
With several consultations came a lot of information to take in. Aaron needed to be able to look back at what each clinic had explained and how his questions had been answered. Our coordinator encouraged him to take notes on the important points.
After the consultations, Aaron could also check back with our coordinator about what he had heard. When he wanted to revisit a question or a clinician’s answer, we helped him go over it. He remembered being able to ask again when something was unclear as a positive part of the experience.
The decision about where to have surgery was Aaron’s to make, based on what he had learned at the clinics. We helped him speak with the medical staff and revisit anything he needed to understand more clearly. After visiting four clinics, Aaron chose where to have his surgery.
From Surgery Day to Follow-Up Care
Once Aaron had chosen a clinic, we helped arrange the day of his surgery and the appointments that followed. A driver and coordinator were with him on surgery day, and we helped him get back to his hotel afterwards. We also accompanied him to a follow-up appointment. Aaron said that having the arrangements in place, from airport transfers to his post-surgery visit, made him feel supported throughout.
One week after surgery, Aaron said he could already see a difference and was happy with the results.
This story is adapted from Aaron’s English-language interview and reflects his individual experience. His comments on the results were made one week after surgery. Communication, transport and accompaniment arrangements, as well as treatment outcomes, may vary depending on the patient and their care.
